Hightower Place Playground Receives Facelift

Thanks to funding from Variety – The Children’s Charity, Hightower Place in Clinton has received the materials to resurface their playground. This update will improve the safety of the playground for the children residing at Hightower Place. It was a happy day for youth and will continue to bring smiling faces to the playground! We would like to thank all of our staff and volunteers who made this possible. We appreciate you!

Gabe Gluba, Director of Clinton and Jackson Treatment, shares, “This grant made a significant impact in our women and children program at both the individual child and family system levels by allowing the use of more effective implementing of therapeutic play. The children are able to learn, develop, and practice healthy habits, coping and social skills that will lead to increase self-esteem, better decision-making, and a health lifestyles throughout their lives. From a family system perspective, the grant made it possible for the use of therapeutic play within the family unit between both mother and child and between siblings. These family bonds are crucial in a child’s developmental process.  When substance use disorder is present in a family, safe play is often limited. This grant made it possible for our families at Hightower Place to partake and experience the positive results of therapeutic play in a safe and supportive environment.”
