Training Opportunities

Upcoming Trainings (Dates and locations subject to change)

Training cost is $10 per CEU. (Current ASAC staff and interns will receive a 50% discount on registration fees for all ASAC sponsored trainings)

All ASAC-sponsored trainings listed on our website are pre-approved for substance abuse CEUs. Participants will receive certificates of completion to use for re-certification credits for other fields. It is the participant’s responsibility to determine if the training(s) will meet the requirements for their specific field.

Trainer Biographies

Emily Logan, Assistant Professor, Kirkwood Community College

Emily Logan, LISW, CADC is an Assistant Professor at Kirkwood Community College, where she teaches Human Services.  Emily provides clinical supervision and continuing education for helping professionals.  Her professional experience includes private practice counseling, substance abuse counseling, and adoption social work.

Erin Foster, ASAC Director of Prevention Services

Erin Foster received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Iowa.  She started as a Prevention Specialist at ASAC in July of 2007 and became the Linn County Prevention Director in March 2012.  Erin enjoys the time she gets to spend training on how substances have a large impact in the health and safety of a community.

Leslie Mussman, ASAC Clinton and Jackson County Prevention Director

Curt received his Bachelor’s Degree from Mt. Mercy University and has been working with youth and families for over 20 years. He has been an ASAC Prevention Specialist since November of 2011. Curt believes in strong community partnerships to address many of the problems facing our youth, offering viewpoints as a professional and as a parent of two boys.
