Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) is a private nonprofit corporation governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Formed in 1962, ASAC is one of the most comprehensive substance use disorder prevention and treatment agencies in the state of Iowa. Our service area primarily serves Linn, Benton, Jones, Jackson and Clinton counties as well as patients from across Iowa.
ASAC is licensed by the Iowa Department of Public Health, Division of Behavioral Health, to address substance use and gambling disorders. Our services follow the continuum of care beginning with Prevention and Intervention moving through the various levels of Treatment.
