About ASAC
|
|
The Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) is a
private nonprofit corporation governed by the volunteer
Board of Directors. Formed in 1962, ASAC is one of the oldest,
largest, and most comprehensive substance abuse prevention and
treatment agencies in the state of Iowa. Although we serve clients
from throughout Iowa, we primarily serve the five counties of
Linn, Benton, Jones, Jackson, and Clinton. Read our

ASAC is licensed by the Iowa Department of Public Health, Division
of Health Promotion, Prevention and Addictive Behaviors, to
provide comprehensive prevention and treatment services to combat
the abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. Our mission is
to provide
accessible comprehensive substance abuse treatment and prevention services
designed to enhance the quality of life for individuals, families,
and communities in East Central Iowa. Our services follow
the continuum of care beginning with
Prevention and Intervention and moving through the various
levels of Treatment. Our treatment
services include assessment, extended outpatient, intensive
outpatient, residential, halfway house and continuing care. |
